Little Miss

Your thoughts, prayers and positive energy have helped Little Miss tremendously. The Gilbert Equine Hospital has been fantastic in keeping us posted on Little Miss' progress. As of yesterday, she seems to be improving, however, still has a severe case of Aspirated Pneumonia. She had been on IV antibiotics; however, Dr. Voss needed to change them to intramuscular injections due to her blood coagulating at the catheter site. Little Miss will spend one more weekend at the hospital, and if all continues to go well, she will be coming home next Monday where she will need special care for weeks to come. To all of you, who have supported Little Miss financially and energetically, THANK YOU! By Monday, Little Miss' bill will exceed $10,000. So far we have raised $5,700 from our generous friends. Your financial support is desperately needed to help us with this unexpected vet bill. Any amount is greatly appreciated and will go directly to helping defray these costs. If you would like to help please Click Here. To visit our homepage and donate to Little Miss please Click Here or you may contact us at 520.398.2814. Please let us know that your donation is to go directly to Little Miss. Please keep Little Miss in your thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery, and for a safe trip home! From all of us at Equine Voices, especially Little Miss, we thank you!

From All Of Us At Equine Voices

SUNRISE AKA "SUNNY" HAS BEEN ADOPTED

Although it was difficult for so many of us to let Sunrise go, we knew it was in his best interest to have a new home with Linda, Zeke (the mini-donkey), Samson (the Missouri Fox Trotter) and Leah (the mini horse). Born here on December 28, 2013, Sunrise has only known the people and animals at the sanctuary. Today, he lives with an amazing family that is providing him love, sanctuary, companionship and friendship. Sonny is adapting well and has weaved his way into this beautiful, loving family! Sunny and Zeke are best of friends and are regularly caught laying down together. Thank you Linda for giving Sunrise the home he and all the animals deserve!

Help For Burrito

The day before Sunrise was to leave for his new, forever and loving home, Equine Voices received a call about a burro that needed a home. Nothing was mentioned about his condition; only that he was rescued from a man that at night would fancy going out to beat him. Burrito was taken in by a family who recently lost their home. Since Sunrise was being adopted, we decided, sight unseen, to give Burrito sanctuary. Linda and Joey stopped in Cave Creek, on the way to Equine Voices and picked him up for us. When I picked up the phone, it was Joey, "Karen, you will not believe what I'm seeing"...so the story was told. When Burrito arrived at the sanctuary, like many of our rescues, unprepared, we could not believe his condition. He was born with a disability. His back knees rub together when he walks to the point that his knees were raw and bloody, and untreated. His eyes were scavenged by flies, and they too were raw and bloody. He is 22 years old, and never been gelded. I stood there wondering what this poor guy was thinking and feeling. He has only been here a week, but despite his issues, he is becoming a loving and trusting friend, is eating like a champ, and seems to figure out his way around his pen. Let's pray for little Burrito, and hope he will heal like so many of those innocents that have found their way to the sanctuary. Click Here to meet Burrito. For help with Burrito's care please Click Here or call the office at 520-398-2814. Please let us know that your donation is to go directly to Burrito. If you would like to sponsor Burrito Click Here for our Adoption/Sponsor page and select Burros. Thank You "Burrito".

VOLUNTEERS & DONATIONS NEEDED

Annual Quail Creek Community Garage Sale
Saturday, November 15th from 8:00am - 2:00pm

Quail Creek Community in Green Valley hosts an enormous garage sale each year. Everything you can imagine will be offered for sale: RVs, cars, golf carts, all terrain vehicles (atv's), motorcycles, antiques, furniture, appliances, sporting equipment, bikes, households items, clothing, and scads of etc! The cars begin lining up at the gates of Quail Creek before the sun-rises. Gates open at 8AM to the public.

Equine Voices will be participating in this fantastic event and we ask for your donations of good quality items to sell. You can drop off your items at the ranch or at Jack and Angie's (where the sale will be held in Quail Creek) 1924 E Orinda Lane. It would be a great help if the items were properly cleaned and priced before you drop them off. (We can price them if you prefer.) If you have items that are too large for you to transport we can make arrangements to pick them up for you.

Are you a chef, an artist or have other creative talents? If you would like to bring your table/display and sell your bread, cupcakes, paintings, greeting cards, etc. at this giant event we would love to have you join us! We would like to kindly request that you donate a portion of your day's sales to Equine Voices.

Prior to the sale we will need help transporting items to the location of the sale as well as pricing and organizing items. The day of the sale we will need help too. This is a very large and fast paced event so we will need lots of eyes on the merchandise as well as assistance with the sale of items.

Dates to transport items from the ranch and the storage unit: November 11. (and Nov 12 if necessary)
Dates to organize and price items: November 12, 13, 14
Date of the sale: November 15
